Healthy Lifestyle
Maintaining a healthy state of personal wellness includes giving daily attention to the nurturance of our bodies, our minds, our moods and our spiritual life. Ask yourself how you are doing in maintaining the following list of daily behaviors that promote a healthy lifestyle:
- Eat three balanced meals a day including 2 healthy snacks in between
- Eat one meal a day with the gathered family without outside interruptions (i.e. TV, phone calls, text messaging)
- Get adequate rest to rejuvenate your body – 8 hours of sleep each night is recommended
- Monitor caffeine intake and avoid in the late hours of the day
- Keep stress levels to a minimum each and every day
- Take your full lunch hour
- Take small breaks throughout your day for recovery and relaxation
- Use the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator
- Get outdoors and breathe in the air taking in the colors and nature all around
- Take an hour out of your day for healthy exercise habits
- Participate in a faith community
- Set aside time each day for prayer and devotion
- Spend time with family and friends on a regular basis
- Make time each day for something you enjoy
