CORE VALUES

Learning to love from the Creator of life
  • There exists only one true, living, sovereign God, creator and sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally co-existing in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Every human, male and female, is created in God’s image, and is therefore of inestimable value.
  • Intimacy with God and glorifying Him is the ultimate goal of human life and comes to our world through Jesus Christ by the grace of God.
  • All humans have sinned, thereby breaking relationship with God resulting in guilt, suffering, and death.
  • Sin, which destroys fellowship and intimacy with God, is overcome by the working of God through the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and his bodily resurrection.  Those who trust in Him alone are justified, forgiven, and saved from eternal destruction.
  • The Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration and renewal for those who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. He makes the presence of Jesus Christ real in believers, and He comforts, guides, convicts, renews and enables believers to live in ways that honor Christ.
  • The Bible is the sure word of a faithful God and the final authority for all matters about which it speaks.  God reveals each individual’s meaning and purpose for life through His Word.
  • Human suffering can become the context for discovering new dimensions of the grace of God that transforms our lives and fills them with new meaning.
  • Human beings possess an intrinsically moral nature. Obedience to appropriate authority, pre-eminently to God and His Word, promotes healing and growth.
  • Ministry to persons acknowledges the complexity of humans as physical, social, psychological, and spiritual beings. The ultimate goal of Christian counseling is to help others move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity.
